Here’s Who Helped Sonny Cover Up John’s Murder On September 3 General Hospital

After Sonny shot John dead, he had some unexpected help covering his tracks on the September 3, 2024 episode of General Hospital.

The Cover Up

Two shots to the chest left John (Adam Harrington) dead at the Quartermaine boathouse, with Sonny (Maurice Benard) standing over his victim in the rain. But it wasn’t long until Michael (Chad Duell) showed up and jumped into action to help his father.

Michael – taught since birth how to cover up crimes – cleaned up the bullet casings before suggesting Sonny use Carly (Laura Wright) as an alibi while he took care of Cates. When Sonny found Carly in the mansion, he asked her to pretend they’d spent the last half hour in a bedroom. Cary agreed, and when they greeted everyone in the living room, Sonny shocked everyone – including Nina (Cynthia Watros) – by readjusting his belt to make it look like he’d just slept with his ex-wife.

The Suspects

Michael called Chase (Josh Swickard), telling him he’d found John shot dead at the boathouse as Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) finally decided to show up after making out again in his office. Chase and Anna (Finola Hughes) were on the case while John’s body was wheeled away, while Tracy (Jane Elliot) instantly accused Sonny of being the murderer.

Meanwhile, Kristina (Kate Mansi, who was just named one of SoapHub’s performers of the month) arrived at her baby’s grave to apologize for what happened at her funeral. She brought the Mickey Mouse plush her dad had given her for the baby, and later went back to her mom’s house to get some rest. But as soon as she went to bed, Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) accidentally found the gun she’d stolen from Sonny in her purse.
