Here’s How Lydia Look Really Feels About Her Return As General Hospital’s Selina

It’s been a while since Port Charles’ mob scene has starred anyone but Sonny, but now that Lydia Look is returning to General Hospital, will we get another mob showdown?

Lydia Look has played mobstress Selina since 2015 and has shown up in Port Charles off and on whenever she was least wanted by mob rival Sonny (Maurice Benard). After not being on screen since March 2024, Look is back to reprise her role just in time for Sonny to have heart issues and Cody (Josh Kelly) to have gambling debt.

Look recently dished to Soap Opera Digest about her return to GH, which she referred to as “the best show in daytime.” When asked if it was easy to get back into character after nearly a year, Look noted, “Selina is always just around the corner for me.”

Look returned on January 16 and reunited with Cody, who bet his entire $50,000 hush money from Drew (Cameron Mathison) on the PCU game that ended with a loss for the hometown team. But despite her always enjoyable scenes with Kelly’s Cody, Look was asked about another screen partner.

“There’s a certain camaraderie we share together,” the actress had to say about her on-screen nephew Brad (Parry Shen), who also returned to GH last year. “It’s familiar. Like family. There is a lifetime of material and it’s all good stuff, every single barb and every little zinger lands with a double meaning,” she told SOD.

What’s In Store

While Look doesn’t reveal much about what’s coming up for her character, it’s easy to assume that Selina is snaking around Port Charles again. First, there’s Sonny’s heart trouble, which is steering in the direction of him retiring from the mob and handing the business over to someone else. Odds are that Selina will have a lot to say if she needs to meet with a new mob boss.

Then there’s Cody, who is back to gambling. Though that little pastime may be behind him for good now that he’s lost all his money on the PCU game.

Last but never least is Brad, who has worked incredibly hard to get on the straight and narrow since getting his job back at the hospital. Sure, he’s already blackmailed Portia (Brook Kerr) over tampering with Heather’s (ex-Alley Mills) test results and verbally attacked Cyrus (Jeff Kober), but so far, there’s been no trouble he needs his aunt to swoop in and save him from… yet.
