General Hospital’s Giovanni Mazza Teases ‘Something Big’ Ahead For Gio

General Hospital fans have wildly speculated about the truth about Gio’s parents. Giovanni Mazza reveals something big is on the way for his character.

Gio’s Puzzling Parentage

When Gio arrived in Port Charles, he was known as the orphaned violinist who was raised by The Cerullos. When both of his parents died, he was left with a large, loving family, including his aunt Lois (Rena Sofer), cousin Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton), and “uncle” Sonny (Maurice Benard, who recently revealed who he’d like to see guest star on GH).

Lately, however, there seems to be a big fan theory surrounding his parents, And GH isn’t being subtle about it. Not too long ago, Brook Lynn revealed she once had a baby and gave it up for adoption. There have also been several mentions of her teen romance with Dante (Dominic Zamprogna). Plus, a few sweet scenes between Brook Lynn and Gio sprinkled in. It’s easy to assume his biological parents are Brook Lynn and Dante. Now, Mazza is breaking his silence on the rumors.

Hinting At The Truth

During an interview with Too Fab News, the GH newcomer hinted at the upcoming storyline. “I think a lot of fans have been anticipating something coming up… there is something very big coming up,” Mazza revealed.

When asked about the speculation regarding Gio’s real parents, Mazza didn’t let anything slip. “What’s really fun is when my family asks, I think,” he shifted the conversation. “It sort of helps me, in a way, to know what the fan speculation is.”

Without revealing which character he was referring to, Mazza shared, “There was one person that my mom thought I might be related to, and I was like, ‘Well, I can play around with that and see what the audience thinks of that.'”
