Harmony Miller may not have had a lot of friends in Port Charles, but her portrayer, Inga Cadranel, does in real life. Now, the actress, who still pops up on General Hospital as a spirit of some sort, is paying tribute to her friend Charles Officer, who recently passed away.
“I haven’t been able to surface for a couple days to make this post,” Cadranel began her story on Instagram. “Thank you to the people who have been checking on me. I see you. I appreciate you. My writing partner, producing partner, confidant, and beloved friend of 20 years has transitioned to the spiritual world.
“There had been absolutely no one in my life who has believed in me, supported my work, encouraged me, and told me I could do anything and to never give up because he was by my side guiding me along the way than Charles Officer,” the actress emotionally continued.
Officer was a Canadian film and television director, writer, actor, and professional hockey player. He died on December 1 in Toronto after a long illness. His directing credits include the series Saving Hope and Rookie Blue.
“To say I have lost a friend is an understatement,” Cadranel continued. “The world has lost a light. An angel. A small circle of us had been protecting his health issues for the past year, and every day we felt like he was getting better. Sitting with Charles in his hospital for 3 hours just talking last time I saw him was the highlight of my year.
“Planning new projects and creative spit-balling on the ones we are currently creating,” she adds. “I loved nothing more than spending time talking with he and Jake in a vortex of love and inspiration about our exciting futures together. I am beyond gutted. I miss you with every passing minute.
“I love you Charles Officer. I love you so much,” Cadranel concludes. “I’m keeping your name, your work, and your spirit alive. I make that promise to you old friend. I will never give up.” Soap Hub extends sincere condolences to Cadranel and Officer’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.
