Frank Valentini, before taking over the reins at General Hospital, was the executive producer at One Life to Live. There, he not only worked with series star Erika Slezak, who played Viki, but he also knew her personally. He shares supportive words in light of the recent passing of Slezak’s daughter, Amanda Davies.
“I had the great pleasure of watching Amanda [Davies] grow up during my tenure at One Life to Live and know that Erika’s role as ‘mom’ was her most important,” Valentini told People magazine. “I am so saddened to hear of her tremendous loss. My heart goes out to my dear friend, her family, and their friends during this difficult time.”
As previously reported, Amanda Davies recently died unexpectedly. Her passing was reported on Erika Slezak’s official website. No cause of death has been given. Davies played a teenage Viki on OLTL in 2002.
Amanda’s late grandfather, Walter Slezak, was also an actor, mostly known for character roles in classic Hollywood films. He appeared on OLTL in 1976 as Laszlow Braedeker. Walter’s diverse acting resume also included roles on Batman as villain The Clock King, The Love Boat, Treasure Island, and in the Alfred Hitchcock thriller Lifeboat.
