Prior to landing on General Hospital as the Quartermaine confidante, Yuri, actor Cyrus Hobbi played football at the University of Southern California and in high school in Scottsdale, Arizona. Now, the actor is bidding an emotional farewell to a late school coach who helped inspire him and his love of the game.
Cyrus Hobbi: Honoring a Legend
“Damn. Craig [Roh] literally brought the best out of me in high school. Arizona Football Legend. All my love to the Roh family,” Robi posted on Instagram, adding four heart emojis in honor of the late player.
“I wanted to let all of [Craig’s] followers know that after an 18-month battle with Stage IV Colon Cancer, God brought Craig home on Monday, February 26th,” posted Chelsea, Craig’s wife. “Craig was not very public with his battle, as he truly just wanted to focus on bringing the best content and building the best products he could. In classic Craig fashion, he was working on posts and future plans for D-line University until the very end. He LOVED coaching, and it carried him through his hardest days. As we mourn and figure out what life looks like next, we will be back with future plans that Craig laid out.”
A GoFundMe has been launched in order to help Roh’s family with expenses. “Also, spreading the word to honor him, would be greatly appreciated,” Chelsea added. “Thank you all.”
Viewers haven’t seen Yuri too recently on GH. Last year, Soap Hub reported that the actor injured his leg in a Thanksgiving football game.
