General Hospital’s Carolyn Hennesy wants people to know where she stands during this time of crisis for the Jewish people and Israel in particular. Anti-Semitism is on the rise around the world, but Hennesy has found an interesting way to show her support.
Carolyn Hennesy Stands With Her Jewish Friends
The beloved star made a point of sharing her feelings in a recent Instagram video on her official account. “Hello everyone, Carolyn Hennesy here,” she began, adding with levity, “World’s worst videographer showing you what I just installed.”
With that, she panned the camera over to reveal her newest purchase. “Yes, I’m sure you can see that. Yes, it is my new vintage antique mezuzah that I installed.” For those who don’t know, a mezuzah is a piece of parchment inscribed with specific Hebrew verses from the Torah and then stored in a case. In Biblical verses, the purpose of one is to constantly remind one of God’s commandments. In more recent times, it’s to protect the house from evil forces.
“Because I did my research, [it is placed] in the upper one-third of the door frame,” she continued. “Not too high, not too low. I installed it at an angle and on the right side of the door frame, and as I was installing it, I had the blessing that goes over the installation of the mezuzah playing in the background. Thank you, rabbi,” she added playfully.
But then, the funny lady got serious. “I stand in solidarity with all of my Jewish friends, with my extended Jewish family whom I love so much. Stacey and Danny, this is for you. I stand in solidarity with every Jew on the planet and the nation of Israel. I am with you. I support you. I love and value you. So there, today I am Jewish.”
In a world where it seems those friends are quickly dwindling, her words are very welcome. “Hey, come on over and see my new house protection. Look there, it is right there. Very pretty, very pretty, and yes, there’s a scroll inside. I’m not stupid. I need all of the perfection I can get. Shalom.” This Jewish writer thanks Hennesy for her kind words. They are indeed appreciated.
