On General Hospital, Nikolas Cassadine is having a hard time communicating with his wife Ava Jerome Cassadine, and it’s leaving him vulnerable to the scheming of Esme Prince. Offscreen, his portrayer, Marcus Coloma, has been giving communication a lot of thought and he’s wanting to share those feelings — with you.

Marcus Coloma Digs Deep

The actor, like many of us, has been affected by the sad news of the shooting at a Texas school that took so many lives and the struggle about whether now is a good time to be posting. He came to a very wise conclusion — which he shared with his social media followers recently.

“It’s such a dark time right now,” he began in a video message he shared on Instagram Reels, as Love and Rockets’ song, “Haunted When The Minutes Drag,” played underneath. “I deleted and posted and deleted because I felt nothing seems right. But I kept thinking about a couple of you and one in particular that you said your husband died in January and that you’ve been really depressed and that my posts make you smile a little bit.

“There’s constantly a struggle in my head of whether or not I should be posting, if I should be communicating, and that little comment that you posted on my post is a perfect example of how…that communication just really, really impacted me and you didn’t have to write that comment and I’m so happy that you did.

What do you think? Post a comment!

“I think it goes to show that maybe sometimes when it’s very, very, very difficult to communicate or think of anything to say, maybe that’s when it’s the most important time to communicate and maybe when you just want to hate, that’s the most important time to love.”

Marcus Coloma’s realization caused him to be a bit nostalgic and motivated him to reach out even more — a lesson from which we can all learn. “Looking back, I gotta say, at all of my failures, it’s probably because I didn’t communicate enough or maybe I didn’t love enough and so I just wanted to change that and say hello and I love you.”
