GH Alumni Coby Ryan McLaughlin Suffers a Deep Personal Loss

As Dawn of Day cult leader Shiloh on General Hospital, Coby Ryan McLaughlin created quite a presence. Now, he’s making an impact with some beautiful words as he pays tribute to his late Uncle Dan, who recently passed away at the age of 85.

“Amazing how quickly things change,” McLaughlin began his emotional Instagram post that included photos of his beloved uncle. “A weekend. A blink of an eye. A last conversation you’d never thought would be your last. Had dinner with this lovely, kind hearted gentleman on Friday, and today he was gone….No warning.

Finding the Right Words

“His soul shot into the cosmos around 8 am, and that was that,” continued the actor. “Leaving behind amazing memories, and such an immense amount of gratitude, that I didn’t cry for his leaving, but for all of his love, guidance, and direction that I couldn’t see when it was right in front of me… took him jetting off to an another astral plane for me to take a step back, and realize just how important of a man he was in my life…. And boy, was he a good one…”

Check out McLaughlin’s Instagram post below to see photos of his Uncle Dan, who managed to smile in the face of adversity. “The 2nd and 3rd picture were taken last month when we were out carousing at his favorite steak spot, chatting up age appropriate women, and throwing back dry Belvedere Martini’s like we were running outta time… (turns out, we were),” the actor shares, “Well, you can see how that evening ended; cracked his head open… at 85….[expletive] legend.
