When Ryan Paevey left General Hospital and Nathan West behind in 2018, Nathan tragically died after his own father shot him, but Paevey found a new life with Hallmark and its many romantic movies.
Ryan Paevey Knew It Was Time To Leave GH
Paevey began playing Detective Nathan West in 2013 and was revealed to be the adoptive brother of Nina Reeves and the biological son of Liesl Obrecht. Fans absolutely adored his love story with Maxie Jones and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house at Nathan’s somber and heartbreaking fallen hero police funeral. At the time, Paevey felt he made the right decision and never looked back.
Nothing But Gratitude
“My contract came up,” Paevey explained to Soap Hub in an exclusive interview around the time of his GH exit in 2018. “There are other avenues I want to explore. It’s an amicable parting. Our time together has run its course. I will forever be grateful for my time at GH, what it brought into my life, and what it taught me. It has opened my eyes to a whole new world.”
Paevey Is A Hallmark Favorite
Ryan Paevey made the leap to Hallmark almost immediately and has starred in 15 Hallmark flicks over the last five years, the most recent being Fourth Down And Love opposite When Calls The Heart’s Pascale Hutton. But perhaps his most popular Hallmark role is as Mr. Darcy in Unleashing Mr. Darcy and Marrying Mr. Darcy. He started playing this character before he even left GH as it launched Paevey’s Hallmark career.
