General Hospital News: Ryan Paevey Stars In A Timeless Christmas for Hallmark

General Hospital’s Detective Nathan West may have gone to that great soap opera in the sky, but fans can still see his portrayer, Ryan Paevey, in an upcoming holiday film for Hallmark.

Ryan Paevey And A Christmas Tradition

Paevey and actress Erin Cahill (Saving Grace) star in the Hallmark movie A Timeless Christmas, which will be released later this year. “I can officially say with authority, having just wrapped day one, that she’s gonna make this thing magical,” Paevey posted earlier this month, praising his on-screen leading lady. “Lucky folk we are to have her.”

“I feel like the LUCKIEST lady to walk alongside you in this beautiful movie @RyanPaevey!” Cahill posted in response. “Joyful to be working with you and [director] @HRHOliver1! @hallmarkchannel.”

“We the fans are so lucky to have you Ryan & Erin in this magical movie,” posted @MariaGrazia_mtl. “Can’t wait 4 any sneak peeks my imagination is running I’m deep into reading #ATimelessChrismas Charles Whitley is perfect character 4you Ryan. This is going to be the most enchanting #CountdownToChrismas.”

Paevey and Cahill have more than Hallmark in common: In 2009, she played the short-term role of Cassandra on GH. Some Internet reports also list Cahill as having played a nurse who had a crush on Steven Webber (Scott Reeves). Cahill and Paevey apparently didn’t overlap during their respective times on the show, but both having daytime experience likely comes in handy when shooting primetime movies, which tends to be done at a faster pace nowadays than it was in the past.

Paevey’s character may be gone for good, but there’s always the chance that GH could invite him back as a spirit, allowing him to lend aid to his widow, Maxie (Kirsten Storms). He could even return as a twin or lookalike, as is common enough in soap operas. In late 2018, Paevey told Soap Hub: “Maybe one of these days they’ll have Nathan come back and ‘ghost visit’ his family. I’d love to come back and see my soap ‘fam’ and my soap fans anytime. If they were to reach out to me, the answer would be yes.”
