GH Alum Kim Delaney Reportedly Involved in Hit and Run

General Hospital character Jackie Templeton is a journalist who digs deep to uncover stories. Now, her portrayer, Kim Delaney, has become a news story herself in light of an alleged auto accident.

Kim Delaney: Upcoming Court Appearances

TMZ reports that Delaney is on her way to court due to two different incidents. The first is over an accident she allegedly caused over a year ago. A man named Dzhamal Badalov has filed legal documents that claim that Delaney hit his motorcycle when he was on it at a red light in November of 2022. Delaney was allegedly driving erratically on Venice Boulevard in Los Angeles.

According to Badalov, some witnesses claim to have seen Delaney swerving in and out of lanes, driving erratically before crashing into him. Bystanders stopped the Primetime Emmy winner (for NYPD Blue) and Daytime Emmy-nominated actress from fleeing the scene.

Badalov goes on to claim that Delaney, who appeared intoxicated, got out of her car, made a phone call, and that person she spoke to offered to pay off Badalov and not call the police. Badalov refused.

The suit adds that Delaney was instructed by the person she was speaking with to leave the scene, which she then did. Now, Badalov is suing for damages.

Sadly for Delaney, there’s more to this case. TMZ discovered that there’s a criminal case that’s been opened against Delaney. She’s been charged with hit and run. The fan-favorite is due in court next week. A good friend of Delaney’s, who requested anonymity, told Soap Hub, “She has been under the influence of a controlling man in her life, who obviously gave her very bad advice that night on the phone. It’s my hope that this serves as the wakeup call she needs to sever those ties and get her life back on track.”

Delaney became an instant favorite back in 1981 after she was cast as ingenue Jenny Gardner on All My Children. Jenny and Greg’s (Laurence Lau) romance captured the hearts of many soap fans. The actress left the show in 1984 shortly after Greg and Jenny were married. Jenny died from injuries sustained in an exploding jet ski.

Delaney went on to have a successful career in several TV series. In 2020, she was lured back to daytime to take over the role of GH’s Jackie Templeton, which was originated by Demi Moore in 1982. Delaney last appeared on GH in 2021.
