General Hospital (GH) fans have been in an uproar since news broke this past weekend of the soap dropping Genie Francis’s contract right in the middle of a big story.
With reporting that Francis was “devastated” and “blindsided” by the news, which was said to be given to her right before she taped last Friday’s air show, fans have become more enraged.
By Sunday morning, petitions to keep her on the show as a regular were circulating through social media, and finally, on Monday night, Francis herself spoke out.
While she didn’t say much, she did display the class and grace she’s shown the soap world for the last 40 years in a sweet tweet thanking fans for all their support.
She also took the time to thank a fellow longtime soap star for her support. While she’s no longer on soaps, One Life to Live alum Robin Strasser (Dorian) is still a vocal force on Twitter and Francis acknowledged that. See the tweets below.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
I would like to thank all my wonderful fans for their support. It has made me feel so much better. ????????????❤️
