General Hospital Star Rebecca Herbst Celebrates Her Birthday

General Hospital’s Elizabeth Webber has had a big couple of years. Her portrayer, Rebecca Herbst has something big to celebrate today.

Herbst was born in Encino, California on May 12, 1977, which means she’s turning 47 years old today. She knew she wanted to be on TV at the young age of six. However, she was a competitive figure skater as a child, but when she was 16, Herbst decided to focus on acting.

Soon, she was appearing in nationally aired spots for a plethora of products. Her acting career took off thanks to guest appearances on primetime programs like L.A. Law, Highway to Heaven, Why Me?, and Beverly Hills, 90210.

Her pairing opposite Jonathan Jackson’s Lucky Spencer resulted in the creation of one of the most popular supercouples of the 1990s. For her work, Herbst has received three Daytime Emmy Award nominations.

She has been married to her former GH co-star, Michael Saucedo (ex-Juan Santiago), since June 1, 2001. The couple has three children — sons Ethan and Emerson and a daughter, Ella.

Herbst has served as the spokeswoman for Purpose Skincare and participated in many fundraisers for the Smile Train charity. She is also a clothes designer, well known for designing and crafting her own gowns (which she frequently debuts on red carpets), as well as outfits for her fellow actresses (including Natalia Livingston and Kimberly McCullough).
