The moss that sits on the Corinthos kitchen counter on General Hospital has taken on a life of its own during the past year or so. It’s always there, it’s always noticeable, and fans have certainly had a lot to say about it.
In fact, Executive Producer Frank Valentini has explained how this moss came to be. “When it first showed up, I was like, ‘What is this? It looks like moss or a bad salad.’” Valentini told fans at the GH event at Graceland early this year before the pandemic began. He added that his production designer told him it was an in thing, so he let it go. Of course, it then took on a life of its very own.
The moss in smaller form even made an appearance on Jason and Sam’s coffee table in Sam’s penthouse and even The Young and the Restless caught onto the trend and placed some moss in Nick’s game room on the CBS soap.
Now, Steve Burton and Laura Wright have a Christmas cheer message for you that you can see in the tweeted video below. While Wright wishes you all happy holidays, Burton appears holding the large bowl of moss, insisting the moss wishes you a good Christmas, as well. The tweet even points out the moss, saying: “Fun Fact: The moss is very festive.”
“Happy holidays from the entire cast and crew of General Hospital,” Wright says before Burton walks onto the kitchen set holding the Moss, saying, “And this guy too.”
