On General Hospital, Finn is dealing with a malpractice lawsuit. In real life, performer Michael Easton is busy celebrating a major milestone.

Happy Birthday, Michael Easton

That’s because he was born on February 15, 1967, in Long Beach, CA, which means that this talented actor is turning 57 years old today! Easton’s career was jump-started by his one-year stint on the NBC soap Days of our Lives where he played Tanner Scofield.

Subsequently, he appeared in an episode of Diagnosis: Murder and landed the starring role in two science fiction series, VR.5 and Total Recall 2070, as well as the crime drama Two. He also had a leading part on the Fox original program, 413 Hope Street, and a recurring role on Ally McBeal as the title character’s boyfriend Glenn.

Between 2001 and 2003, Easton could be seen playing multiple characters on the supernatural serial Port Charles. He received particular praise for embodying the villainous vampire Caleb Morley.

Upon that show’s cancellation, Easton was hired by executives helming fellow ABC soap opera One Life to Live. On October 1, 2003, he debuted as John McBain and remained in the part until the program’s January 13, 2012 finale.

Afterward, he reprised John on GH, though a lawsuit forced the writers to create a wholly new character for him — enter Silas Clay. When a storyline-dictated exit saw Silas stabbed to death, Easton returned as yet another person. This time, it was Dr. Hamilton Finn.

Outside of acting, Easton is also well known for writing screenplays (Beautiful Loser and Queen of Jazz, Daedelus is Dead, Ultraviolent and First Strike Butcher Knife), poetry (Eighteen Straight Whiskeys), and graphic novels (Soul Stealer, Credence, and The Green Woman).

Soap Hub would like to wish Michael Easton a very happy birthday and many more. Also, share your favorite memory of his work or if you’ve met him personally in the comments section.
