Emme Rylan hasn’t been seen as Lulu in Port Charles since the character was put in a coma and Laura placed her in a long-term health facility on General Hospital. So, the actress has spent the time since with her family traveling around the United States — and like most parents, found that spending every second 24/7 can sometimes be a bit much.
Emme Rylan — An Excited Mom
That’s why the actress was excited to share some big news today on Instagram. She posted a video about an amazing event that plenty of parents can certainly appreciate.
“Dropped off Dakota and Levi to school for the first time in one whole year,” she said in the video, taken right after seeing two of her three kids leave for in-person school. “What do you hear? Silence in my car! Silence. Jackson is still home. His class starts next week. The last year has just been so unimaginable. I can’t even believe I got to pack a lunch.”
Her mindset surely has changed from the past couple of years when Rylan recalls how much she disliked packing their lunches.
“I got up early, I made them fresh food; a nice delicious home-cooked lunch,” she enthused.
Onscreen and off-screen BFF Kirsten Storms (Maxie) pointed out that Rylan called her laughing “with so much joy… and no shame” and was happy her friend could “enjoy some me time,” which she hopes means will include hanging out with her soon!
Other former castmates were quick to chime in as well, offering cheers, emojis, and congratulations, including Michelle Stafford (ex-Nina, currently Phyllis on The Young and the Restless), Briana Lane (ex-Brook Lynn), Finola Hughes (Anna), and Teresa Castillo (ex-Sabina), who said she was “looking forward to when I can do the same.”
Rylan, who also played Lizzie Spaulding on Guiding Light and Abby Newman on The Young and the Restless, joined GH in 2013 as a recast of Luke and Laura’s daughter. Her character went into a coma last year, and she was written off the canvas.
At the time, the actress told her Instagram followers that her family had decided to leave Los Angeles and drive around the country in what she described as a “COVID safe epic road trip.”
But now that she’s back in Los Angeles, wouldn’t this seem the perfect time for Lulu to wake up and reclaim her Port Charles life — and her ex-husband, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna)? General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
