Portia Robinson has certainly had her hands full lately on General Hospital after months of trying and failing to keep Trina and Spencer apart. Things are going more smoothly, thankfully, for her portrayer, Brook Kerr, who is celebrating for a very special reason.
That’s because the stunning star was born on November 21, 1973, in Indianapolis, Indiana, which means that she’s turning 50 years old today! After graduating high school, Kerr moved to Los Angeles to pursue her long-held dream of being an actress.
To pay the bills, she toiled as a waitress at Skybar — which proved to be the perfect training ground for one of her earliest screen credits: Hostess. After guest-starring in several sitcoms — including Saved By the Bell: The New Class, The Steve Harvey Show, and Hang Time — Kerr landed a gig on the soon-to-launch NBC soap Passions.
For the next eight years, Kerr steered her character, Whitney Russell, through several high-profile storylines, including having committed what she believed to be accidental incest, religious fervor, single parenthood, and marriage to an adulterous bisexual.
Post Passions, Kerr appeared in several series — CSI: Miami, The Grinder, Westworld, Hawaii 5-0 — and many made-for-TV films. Since 2020, she has played Dr. Portia Robinson on ABC’s General Hospital.
Kerr is an avid sports enthusiast, her favorites being ballet, volleyball, basketball, bowling, and ballroom dancing. With former partner Chris Warren, Kerr is a parent to actor Chris Warren, Jr. (ex-Jason Parker, Grand Hotel; ex-Jimmy Ramírez, The Bold and the Beautiful).
