After spending much time as a most unusual couple on General Hospital, Franco (Roger Howarth) and Nina (Michelle Stafford) now have some normal couple problems. Namely, she wants a baby and, at this point in his life, Franco most certainly does not.
While Franco does have valid reasons for not wanting to father a child, the seed is planted in Nina’s head. He’s explained to her he doesn’t want to pass down his history of mental illness or risk having a child who turns out to be the younger version of him.
When Nina suggested adoption, Franco accurately pointed out no adoption agency would give a baby to two people who already have a record of baby napping and a history of spending time in and out of mental institutions.
Soap Hub wanted to know how you feel about the idea of a “NiCo” baby and whether you want Franco to give into Nina’s maternal longings.
Out of about 4,500 votes, 56% hope Franco will cave and agree to go the baby route with Nina. After all, they’re both reformed now, have shown their love for children and babies (ok, they kidnapped Baby Avery), and have started fresh lives with fresh careers. Wouldn’t marriage and children be the next obvious step. (Franco made it clear at the Julexis wedding that he’s not interested in marriage either).
Another 36% think Franco is finally thinking straight for the first time in his life. First, you feel these two JUST got together and marriage and a baby may be rushing things. But, most importantly, you agree with Franco that their past history doesn’t qualify them as the most stellar parents.
A final 7% don’t even care. You’re losing interest in this couple quick and while a baby might be nice for them, a breakup could add even more drama.
