It looks like Carly is right and you can’t trust Gladys after all on General Hospital. We saw Gladys leave a message for her son, Brando, near Christmas, but she pretended her grieving self speaks to his voicemail for comfort. Um, nope.
According to Soaps.com, General Hospital has cast actor Johnny Wactor as Gladys’s presumed dead son and we spotted him for a second in that epic extended promo of what should have aired last week but didn’t due to the impeachment trial.
This makes us wonder if Gladys is behind the mob wars in Port Charles now, or at least working for whoever is behind it all. Remember, Brando is also listed as Dev’s fake father on Sonny’s fake papers that show Dev as an American citizen.
It did seem odd that after all these years she finally took an interest in her cousin, Mike, when he was in the end stages of Alzheimer’s. Plus, she is also the one who got Sonny to New York where he was vulnerable and easily set up.
Wactor has appeared in such TV shows as Criminal Minds, Age Appropriate, Hollywood Girl, and NCIS. He was first slated to air on GH this past Wednesday, but unless the impeachment hearings follow a different schedule and recess for a while in the afternoon this week, we may not see him on our screens until early February.
GH made its debut in 1963 and is the second longest-running daytime soap opera in American history. The longest-running sudser is Guiding Light. While it’s not the longest-running sudser, General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.
The daytime drama outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households! From Luke (Tony Geary) and Laura’s (Genie Francis) gripping romance and wedding, to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH knows how to please their viewers.
More than five decades of gripping drama has kept the daytime sudser on the air as other soap operas were axed. It is one of only four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include Days of our Lives, The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). GH airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for air times.
