The June 27, 2024 episode of General Hospital will mark the end of an era as Michael Easton concludes his run on the soap. In honor of this soap opera vet, let’s take a look back at all of Easton’s characters he’s portrayed in Port Charles.
Hamilton Finn
Easton’s most recent portrayal was as Finn, a disease specialist who began working at GH in 2016. With a service lizard named Roxy by his side, he helped saved Tracy’s (Jane Elliot) life from brain worms and save the hospital by selling his patent to his Blackwood’s cure.
Over time, Finn’s family and romantic relationships took center stage when his half-brother Chase (Josh Swickard) came to Port Charles, followed by his father Gregory (ex-Gregory Harrison). The doctor had a daughter, Violet (Jophielle Love) with Hayden (ex-Rebecca Budig) before eventually dating Anna (Finola Hughes), then Hayden’s sister Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst).
As a recovering drug addict, addiction and meetings were something Finn was able to bond with Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) over, but in the end, his addiction got the better of him and caused his current demise that lost him custody of Violet.
Silas Clay
Before he was Dr. Finn, Easton played another doctor, Silas, from 2013-2015. Silas was the brother of Stephen, aka Caleb Morley, aka the vampire from the spin-off Port Charles.
Silas’ story was highly centered around his mystical family of vampires and angels, and it was eventually revealed that he was the sort-of widow of Nina (then-Michelle Stafford) and the father of Kiki (then-Kristen Alderson).
After dating Sam (Kelly Monaco) and being killed by Nina’s mother Madeline (ex-Donna Mills), it was later revealed that he had two more daughters, twins Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and the late Nelle (ex-Chloe Lanier), with Nina.
John McBain
One of Easton’s most memorable GH characters was one who crossed over from One Life To Live. After playing John McBain for nearly a decade on OLTL, Easton brought his character to the last remaining ABC show after OLTL’s 2012 cancellation.
McBain arrived in Port Charles to find a missing Todd (ex-Roger Howarth), and later to pursue a vendetta against Sonny (Maurice Benard). He wound up staying in town and forming a relationship with Sam.
The OLTL character crossovers wound up being short lived when Prospect Park pursued reviving the series, ending Easton’s run as McBain on GH.
Caleb Morley
The first character Easton ever played for GH was vampire Caleb Morley on Port Charles from 2001-2003. Caleb was beat known for his relationship with Livvie, played by Easton’s future characters’ love interest, Kelly Monaco.
Entangled with characters like Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) and Lucy (Lynn Herring) on PC, Caleb later returned when Easton reprised the role for a short stint on GH in 2013. In a fun twist, Easton’s other character, McBain, killed Caleb with a stake in the chest. But Caleb later walked out of the GH morgue alive just before Easton began portrayed Silas.
As GH says goodbye to Easton, which of his characters was your favorite to watch? Let us know in the comments.
