General Hospital Fans Reveal Most Heartbreaking Part Of Jason’s Goodbye To Sam

Jason’s goodbye to Sam on the October 31, 2024 episode of General Hospital was hard to watch for many… but one detail made it extra heartbreaking.

After Alexis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) devastating scenes accepting Sam (Kelly Monaco) was gone on the October 31 episode, it was Jason’s (Steve Burton) turn to say goodbye to his true love. Viewers knew they were in for it when Jason was given the opportunity to have a proper farewell with Sam, having two decades of history between the GH supercouple.

Jason found it hard to even look at Sam’s lifeless body in the hospital bed, and when he did, he wondered how she could be gone. He flashed back to several memorable JaSam moments throughout the years before giving her a forehead kiss and leaving the room in tears.

Tears of A Stonecold

The standout moment for most viewers – especially those well-familiar with Jason’s “stonecold” appearance – was the fact he cried outside of Sam’s hospital room. Many viewers took note of the rare occurrence for Jason with posts on X (formerly Twitter) as they watched the episode.

“It’s not too often you see Jason crying,” a viewer stated with a crying emoji.

“I can’t stop crying watching Jason cry!” another viewer said after a slew of crying emojis.

One viewer put it simply, saying, “Jason crying…omg,” while another noted, “Even Jason was crying,” alongside a teary emoji.

One JaSam fan enthusiastically shared their thoughts on the scene. “The way Jason said goodbye and then was crying in the hallway!!!” The fan added several tearful and broken heart emojis before finishing with, “I don’t care what anybody else says Sam was the love of Jason Morgan’s life!!!”
