General Hospital Fans React To An Extra Special All My Children Reference

General Hospital fans took to social media to react to an All My Children reference that was made extra special due to who was starring in the scene.

From Pine Valley to Port Charles

As the last remaining ABC soap, GH is known for referencing its sister shows, AMC and One Life To Live. In fact, the December 10, 2024 episode included callbacks to both. While hearing about the Llanview college football team was a notable moment of nostalgia, it was an unexpected AMC reference that got fans talking.

When Lulu (Alexa Havins) barged into Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) office demanding answers about Valentin (James Patrick Stuart), Nina’s assistant popped in to let her boss know that Erica Kane was on the phone. Lulu being Lulu, she hung up on the famous businesswoman before Nina could take the call.

This was far from the first time the people of Port Charles have mentioned Erica, but this time, it was an extra special moment due to her being referenced in the same scene as Havins, who previously played Babe on AMC.

Fans React

Fans immediately took to X (formerly Twitter) to comment on the nod to the beloved daytime character and Havins’ connection to her.

“Somewhere in Pine Valley, Erica Kane is staring at her phone receiver thinking…”That voice sounded familiar,” one viewer joked, while another noted the similarities in Erica’s and Lulu’s storylines, saying, “Oh hey, an Erica Kane mention in a scene with Alexa Havins where Lulu is looking to get her daughter back…”

One viewer took the hang-up very seriously, remembering that Michael (Chad Duell) also once hung up on Erica from Nina’s phone. “So I just found out that apparently Michael hung up on Erica before Lulu during a call to Deception,” they posted. “Let me make one thing clear, Erica would never call any business back that would ever had [sic] the gall to hang up on her… not my Erica Esmeralda Kane!!!”

Mostly, fans found humor in the scene, with one saying, “Lulu hung up on Erica Kane!” along with laughing emojis and a GIF of a woman laughing, while another shared, “Lulu hanging up on Erica Kane was hilarious” alongside a GIF that said ‘I see what you did there.’
