After a recent thrift store find, this General Hospital fan sent the fandom on a trip down memory lane… or should we say, a trip down a musical lane.

Not A General Find

A fan recently posted on the General Hospital Fans – Official Facebook group that they found a rare piece of GH merchandise at a thrift store.

“Went to a thrift shop today and found this beauty of a gem. It is from 1998. I had no idea that music CD’s for General Hospital existed,” shared the user.

The CD, by the fictional L&B Records, is titled The Music of General Hospital and features hits like “Luke and Laura’s Theme,” “Robin and Stone’s Theme,” “Love Has The Last Word” by Eddie Maine, and the original GH theme song, “Faces of the Heart” by Dave Koz.

This post led to fans in the group sharing their surprise that a CD like this existed, while others revealed they also once owned it.

“I owned that CD! It’s probably in a box somewhere. It has some really good songs on it,” shared one fan, while another remembered, “I have that from when it first came out.” One fan noted their favorite songs on the CD, saying, “I still have mine. I love the Wally Kurth and Brad Maule songs.”

Like most longtime viewers, many were quick to reminisce about the iconic theme song. “Every time I see a rerun and they play the music I feel like it takes me back in time when I was watching it or what I was doing back during that time.”

“Dave Koz and the opening closing theme!! So great!!” enthused another.

A handful of fans even revealed they also owned a One Life To Live music album. “I also had a OLTL cassette back in the day, it still plays but I don’t use it much,” one fan said, while another noted, “I have one from One Life to Live.”
