General Hospital’s Evan Hofer & Katelyn MacMullen Spill Behind-the-Scenes Tea at Fan Event

General Hospital‘s Evan Hofer and Katelyn MacMullen held a meet-and-greet at The Stress Factory in New Brunswick, NJ, on Saturday, December 7th. The actors took turns interviewing each other before taking questions from the audience and meeting the fans who attended the event. The Main Event

Hofer (Dex) and MacMullen (Willow) took the stage and mixed audience Q&A with questions for each other. MacMullen recounted how she and Sofia Mattsson both tested for what would become the role of Willow and that they each encouraged the other during the audition. Although MacMullen booked the job, Mattsson’s Sasha was created for her as a result. “That is my favorite part about the audition process, is that we both started working on the show,” MacMullen recounted.

Hofer spoke highly of his co-star Maurice Benard (Sonny), “I got so lucky with Maurice. He has been such an incredible friend and mentor to me this entire time. From my very first day, he has been so wonderful.” Hofer expressed his gratitude to the fans, “I appreciate so much that you guys watch every day and care so much about the show.” MacMullen concurred, “Unlike most shows, there is a generational tradition…it really is a privilege to be on the show.”

When asked what his favorite scene was, Hofer replied, “I loved the meat hook! I was supposed to be shirtless for those scenes.” He continued, “When I had to do all of my spy work scenes [as Dex], I would watch the Mission Impossible films the night before. There was one scene where Tom Cruise was hanging from a pole, shirtless…so I said, ‘There it is!’,” the actor recounted. Hofer was not able to execute the scene shirtless because they told him, “There is too much armpit.” In response to that, the actor said, “First, well, I do have two of them, and second, you are ruining my Tom Cruise moment!”
