Erika Slezak Praises Jane Elliot and GH
In a clip shared by the official GH Instagram account, Erika Slezak opened up about working on the ABC soap and working with Jane Elliot. Her first scenes were with Elliot, when they encountered each other as she paid her respects to Monica (Leslie Charleson).
Slezak called Elliot a “queen,” and appeared happy to have shared so many scenes with her. With Ronnie “inheriting” Monica’s house, there have been many shots at the Quartermaine mansion, with her facing off against Tracy.
There were also familiar faces on the GH from Slezak’s time on One Life to Live. Josh Kelly (Cody), Amanda Setton (Brook Lynn), and Chris McKenna (Jack Brennan) were all in Llanview at one point. She also mentioned that everyone was friendly from the beginning.
The filming schedule and procedure were new for Slezak. She had to adjust to moving from script to script and scene to scene.
What Happened when Frank Valentini Called?
When Erika Slezak received the call from EP Frank Valentini, she wanted to make sure he wasn’t calling her in to replace Leslie Charleson. She said she thought Charleson would be pleased with how Monica’s story is wrapped up, and hoped she would be.
However, adding Ronnie to the mix as GH closes out the chapter of Monica’s legacy is an interesting touch. The writers laid the groundwork in July, leading up to the moment Slezak debuted opposite Jane Elliot. How long it will last remains to be seen, though it was confirmed to be a short stint.
At some point, it will be discovered that Moncia’s will was altered, or Ronnie will sign things over to Michael (Rory Gibson). There are several ways this could play out, and with sweeps just a few weeks away, November could be a big month.
