Emma is back on General Hospital with a new face and attitude. She is also serious about an important cause.
Emma (Braedyn Bruner) has changed since she was a little girl on GH. Anna’s granddaughter has returned to Port Charles because she got into trouble at Berkeley and transferred to PCU. This older version of Emma is no longer a sweet little princess and has evolved into somewhat of a rebel.
She was caught sneaking out late at night and going to the Mercury Club. But this girl wasn’t just out to party, she was there for a late-night meeting of Students Against Animal Cruelty (SAC).
She is fundraising for this cause which is important to her. She explained to Gio (Giovanni Mazza) how much this group means to her because of her love for animals, especially dogs. Emma grew up with two dogs who she adored. She also volunteered at a local pound where she helped care for puppies but was terribly upset when some were sold to a lab. She would like to stop animal testing.
GH has hosted the annual Nurse’s Ball to fundraise for AIDS research for years. This has been an integral part of the soap and brought attention to a cause at a time when it was desperately needed. It began after Stone (Michael Sutton) died from AIDS and his girlfriend Robin (Kimberly McCullough) became HIV positive. Robin is Emma’s mom.
Emma has her mother’s fighting spirit and found a cause near and dear to her. She explained to her new friend Gio that SAC didn’t raise much money at the Mercury Club because college kids don’t have much. She wants the “olds” and “boomers” to contribute.
Her idea is to host an event at the Metro Court for the older generation, hoping that it will bring in more funds. She asked Gio to play his violin as entertainment. He happily agreed. These two may be forming a connection.
Emma may be more like her old self than previously thought. She is doing a good thing and may end up hosting Port Charles’ event of the season. What are your thoughts on Emma and her cause? Let us know in the comments.
