So that happened. At the end of the April 9 episode of General Hospital, Drew and Nina took their aggressions out on each other. But not in the way they have been for the last few months. Instead of verbal showdowns, the two had hate sex in Drew’s office. Was this a one-time thing? Or did a brand new couple surface in Port Charles? Cameron Mathison reacted to what he considers an unexpected event.
From Enemies to…
“I didn’t see it coming at all,” Cameron Mathison (Drew Cain) told Soap Opera Digest recently. “I really didn’t. I think the audience did.”
Since Nina (Cynthia Watros) basically treated Drew like collateral damage, the Aurora executive has had a serious hate on for the Crimson head. He’s made it clear how he feels about Nina on many occasions — to her face, behind her back, and beyond. Yet that didn’t get in their way when the two hooked up.
Sometimes when sex enters the picture, that tends to mellow the vibe between two people. However, that’s not what’s happening here. “The two of them are both like, all right, let’s forget about that and move on,” the actor said. “I think Drew gets a kick out of it whereas Nina is a little embarrassed by it.
So look for their dynamic to change but not into some sort of sweet, lovey-dovey situationship. “[Drew’s] like, ‘Well that happened and that was weird because I really don’t like you,’ Mathison explained. “Personally, I think it’s really fun and different and kind of sexy because of that.” (Find out what else happened in GH’s April 9 episode here)
Despite the fact that Drew doesn’t very much like Ms. Reeves, Mathison said there are some qualities he admires. “Well, I think for sure he admires her professionally. That’s why he hired her back at Crimson. I think he admires her tenacity and her ability to try to get what she wants. There’s appreciation there on some level but he’s certainly not going to tell her about it!”
Mathison gave audiences a sneak peek of the festivities when he posted a screenshot of Drew and Nina in the office on his Instagram account. The only words the actor used to describe the images were: “Wait… what just happened?!”
