Did Kristina’s Favorite Memory Of Sam Happen On Screen On General Hospital?

As Kristina grieved Sam’s death on the November 5, 2024 episode of General Hospital, she shared her favorite memory with her sister that may sound familiar to longtime viewers.

A Moment To Remember

After pleading with God for an answer as to why she had to lose her sister after already losing her daughter, Michael (Chad Duell, who recently had an unexpected replacement on GH) showed up in the GH chapel to console his devastated sister. Once Kristina (Kate Mansi) calmed down, the two took a seat on a pew, and that was when Kristina revealed something to her brother.

After noting that Sam (ex-Kelly Monaco) never judged her, even when she got sucked into a cult, she shared the one moment with Sam that stood out the most to her. “You know the thing that I keep flashing to with Sam? When she took me to get birth control for the first time,” she admitted. “Sam was there for all my firsts, you know?”

Flashing Back

While Sam taking Kristina to get birth control was memorable for them, it may also be memorable to GH viewers her were watching the Soap in 2009. Not only was it an actual storyline, but the moment Sam took Kristina to the free clinic happened on screen on October 8, 2009.

In the episode, a teenaged Kristina (then played by Lexi Ainsworth) was brought to the clinic by Sam after confiding in her sister about her desire to have sex with her boyfriend, Kiefer (ex-Christian Alexander). Kiefer had yet to be abusive toward Kristina when she made this decision, and Sam assured her she was doing the right thing by taking the responsible route.

The episode took things a step further when Kristina walked out of the room holding her birth control prescription and loosely describing the exam to her sister, noting it felt weird to lay on the table and look up at the lights. But when Sam asked if the experience made her sister reconsider things, Kristina remarked that Kiefer really wanted it.
