General Hospital fans got a new clue in the “Who Shot Drew?” mystery when they learned that Curtis had paid Selina Wu ONE MILLION DOLLARS (insert Austin Powers voice here, complete with pinky to the lips) to kill Drew. Did she actually do it? Selina is a professional, and we assume she hires professional flunkies.

A professional would make sure Drew was really, most sincerely dead. Maybe somebody else got to Drew first? If that’s the case, then Curtis should demand his ONE MILLION DOLLARS back. Because we have to assume Drew’s botched assassination isn’t the work of a stone-cold mob boss like Selina.

As actress Lydia Look explained in this excerpt from Super Soap Scenes: A Time Capsule of Daytime Drama’s Greatest Moments, when Selina is on the job… the job gets done. Read what she had to say about working alongside Sonny to torture the traitorous Li:

Key Takeaways

  • Selina and Sonny teamed up.
  • Maurice Benard was sick on the day of filming.
  • Will there be more between these two mobsters?

You Betrayed Me, Fredo!

Li, played by the strapping and dashing Samuel Wang, was a bodyguard who betrayed Selina Wu. A traitor at best. A Machiavellian, two-faced bastard, at worst. Upon discovering his betrayal, Selina invites Sonny (Maurice Benard) to her estate for a little private party, with the bound and gagged Li in her garden shed, complete with a deadly array of gardening tools. Taking turns, they torture Li with their sharp shears to make him talk….

An Offer You Can’t Refuse

While it has been gratifyingly delicious to be pitted against Sonny Corinthos as Selina Wu, especially as a woman, and a woman of color, in a man’s world of the Mob, it was even more delectable to be working together as partners in crime. Mo was under the weather with a bad cold when we taped this scene, but you would never guess it by watching. He was in it with me every step of the way.  All the way, above and beyond, to infinity. In my humble opinion, I actually think he turned a negative, being ill, into a positive by utilizing his physical discomfort and layering it into his performance as Sonny. I was elated to see him intensify his character’s complexity and came out of the scene with a deeper sense of respect and admiration for him. I can hardly wait and hope for more shenanigans together.
