It may have been the wedding of the year, with all attention on Chase and Brook Lynn this week on General Hospital, but there was another unexpected supercouple who stole the show on the May 16, 2024 episode.
As everyone gathered at the Metro Court for the reception, Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) slyly walked up to Maxie (Kirsten Storms, who recently revealed her next career endeavor) with a question for his date. “Was there a bride at the wedding?” he asked. Maxie was visibly confused until he continued. “Because all I could see… was you.”
The sweet line instantly earned him a kiss from his Maximista, but that wasn’t all. “I can’t think of a better place than at my best friend’s wedding to tell you that I love you,” she told him. Those words caused Spinelli to go all in with a kiss just as everyone around them started applauding.
Spinelli looked humbled at the applause until he realized they were for, who else, but the bride and groom walking in.
Later, after assuring Sam (Kelly Monaco) that he was having the best time he’s had in years — getting an ‘I love you’ from Maxie and finally reuniting with Jason (Steve Burton) — he and Maxie cozied up in the background as they watched Violet (Jophielle Love) perform her love song for Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton).
These scenes came after Spinelli’s portrayer, Anderson, recently revealed on his podcast Daily Drama that he wasn’t sure if Spinelli and Maxie’s romance was a priority on the show.
