While Greg Vaughan is involved with a front-burner Days of Our Lives story involving Eric adopting a baby that he doesn’t know is really his, General Hospital fans still remember his portrayal of Luke and Laura’s son Lucky, the character he played for six years. Would Vaughan ever make a GH comeback?
In a Zoom chat with fans hosted by Coastal Entertainment, Vaughan was asked if he ever considered bringing Lucky to life once more and he admitted it’s something he thinks about.
“It’s not the first time I’ve been asked,” Vaughan answered when the topic came up. “But, it’s also, you know, something that’s been dangled a carrot in front of me at one time. I don’t run that show, you know, obviously that’s a Frank Valentini show. So, if that was something that ever came to fruition, you know, it would, it would take a lot of deep thought and consideration.”
That doesn’t mean Vaughan (see our facts about him here) isn’t happy at DAYS as he has the highest praise for co-star Arianne Zucker (Nicole), but GH was his first foray into a major soap role (Young and the Restless‘ Diego wasn’t quite the same) and he had nothing but good things to say about his time in Port Charles.
“I have the greatest, the fondest memories ever…as kind of my collegiate education if you will,” Vaughan continued. “Becky Herbst [Elizabeth], you know, and, and Kelly Monaco [Sam], I mean, I couldn’t have asked for, two better individuals…we just had a time of our lives. I can never say never as I always say.
“If it was ever in my lifetime to get that phone call, I would definitely…very much entertain the idea,” Vaughan added.
The last time we saw Lucky was in 2015, when Jonathan Jackson made a return as the character he began playing as a child back in 1993. Lucky made a brief Port Charles comeback to return little Jake to Elizabeth after she believed her young son had died four years prior.
Since then, we have heard about Lucky living in Africa, but we have not seen him or learned why he’s stayed away from PC for so long. If Lucky ever does return, he will certainly have a lot of explaining to do since Elizabeth raised their son Aiden without a father.
