Could the Britch Be Back? Kelly Thiebaud Says There Are Changes in Her Life

Kelly Thiebaud took Dr. Britt Westbourne to that great soap in the sky on General Hospital over a year ago. She wanted to take on new roles and now, the actress is sharing that she’s going through some changes in her life. Her fans would love it if one of those changes could possibly mean she’s coming back to GH?

“Hi everyone,” Thiebaud began in a post on X, formerly Twitter. “I know I’ve been absent on here. So much is changing in my life. Maybe soon I’ll find a way to talk about it all, but I want to thank you for your messages and love for Britt. It makes me both sad and happy to read them. Sending you all love & hugs!”

Things changing and thanking folks for loving Britt don’t have to necessarily be connected. But they certainly could be. Britt wouldn’t be the first character on soaps to do the Lazarus bit. “We all know you can always come back on soaps,” the actress said during a Coastal Entertainment event on Zoom. “[But] personally, I needed [Britt] to die so that I, Kelly, can move on from that character.”

Britt was going to fake her death and drop out of site before she met her maker at the hands of the Hook AKA Heather Webber (Daytime Emmy-winner Alley Mills). However, since GH appears to be invested in redeeming Heather, what better way could that be accomplished than bringing one of her victims back to life?

Thiebaud’s fans would certainly like to see that happen. “Well, dayum, girl, so good to see you first thing this morning,” posted X user shallotpeel. “I was just saying to GatiTweets [Kathleen Gati, who plays Britt’s mom, Leisl] that I don’t see why we can’t learn that Liesl secretly removed a barely alive Brett & secreted her somewhere until she could come up with a cure! Meanwhile I hope you are okay.”

“I wish Britt hadn’t have been killed off. Don’t know if you keep up with the show, but yesterday Jason/Steve [Burton] found out what happened from Anna/Finola [Hughes],” posted The Daytime Detective. “Jason near tears. Wow. Barely see your screen mom Kathleen Gati anymore either. I miss that family dynamic.”

Soap Hub hasn’t heard anything official or even rumors that Kelly Thiebaud would be coming back to GH so we don’t mean to get anyone’s hopes up. However, we can safely say that the actress’s portrayal of the woman we went from loving to hate to loving to love isn’t going to be forgotten anytime soon. Also, no matter where Thiebaud’s career takes her next — daytime, the big screen, a streaming series, or prime time — she’ll always hold Britt close to her heart.
