Eagle-eyed General Hospital fans are reporting on X, formerly Twitter, that cast member Nicholas Alexander Chavez is no longer appearing on the show’s closing credits.
Chavez first aired as Spencer Cassadine on GH on July 1, 2021. He became an instant hit on the show and Spencer’s pairing with Trina (first, Sydney Mikayla; now, Tabyana Ali) soared in popularity. The two became known as #Sprina to online fans and are a callback to supercouples that made the genre famous.
The actor left GH earlier this year to film the Ryan Murphy mini-series Monster: The Lyke and Erik Menendez Story about two brothers who are in jail for murdering their parents.
Chavez won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Young Performer in a Drama Series in 2022. He won the Soap Hub Award for Favorite Newcomer in 2021. The actor has been profiled in People magazine. “Thank you People,” he wrote in an Instagram post.
In other GH casting news, Soap Opera Digest reports that Kody Kavitha will appear as Hunter, the new manager at Bobbie’s (formerly Kelly’s), starting Thursday, April 4. Also, Virginia Ma takes on the part of Madison, Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) assistant. starting Tuesday, April 2.
