Carly once again proved she was the ultimate Mama Bear on the December 18 episode of General Hospital. Known for her fierce loyalty to her family, Carly refused to let anyone mess with her son Michael. Even when her best friend Jason warned her to keep her emotions in check, Carly’s temper took over as she stepped into the unfolding drama.

Mother Knows Best

The scandalous revelation of Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) carrying on an affair behind Michael’s (Chad Duell) back left Carly  (Laura Wright) seething. The betrayal cut deep—how could her ex and her daughter-in-law do this to her son? Carly decided Drew and Willow needed to pay for their actions, and no amount of reasoning from Jason (Steve Burton) could stop her from pursuing revenge.

Usually, Jason (Steve Burton) can talk Carly out of turning to the dark side and scheming up trouble. Not this time, though. Nothing he said to her on today’s episode made any difference. In fact, Jason stepping in may have angered that inner beast even more. She’s a mama on a mission to defend her son to the bitter end.

Sinking The Ship

Carly needs to tread carefully here, though. Michael is already enacting his own plan to ruin Drew’s life by tanking the company’s stock and buying it all up when it plummets. Stealing Drew’s company right out from under him will show the politician he can’t get away with touching another man’s wife! Let’s just hope Carly doesn’t accidentally mess that up by jumping too fast to destroy Drew herself.

Carly’s vendetta wasn’t limited to Drew. She had also made it clear that Willow would not escape unscathed. Determined to protect her grandchildren, Carly began preparing for a custody battle. With Martin (Michael E. Knight) reminding Nina (Cynthia Watros) that Willow wasn’t Wiley’s biological mother, Carly knew she had leverage to strip Willow of her maternal claims.

We have to wonder just how low Carly will go. Will she stop at screaming, yelling, and maybe outing a few secrets or two? She had the ability to dismantle Drew’s career, tarnish his reputation, and isolate Willow entirely. As Carly’s schemes gained momentum, the fallout promised to leave Drew and Willow reeling. When Carly sets her sights on revenge, nothing and no one could stand in her way.
