Sonny has been spiraling for weeks on General Hospital after his bipolar medication was altered at the hands of Pikeman. Ava knows, and on the May 3, 2024 episode, someone else figured out what’s going on.
Unrecognizable
Carly (Laura Wright) showed up at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard, who recently got candid about his real-life mental health struggles) penthouse to speak with him, and after an altercation with Ava (Maura West), Sonny finally walked in and asked what Carly was doing there. She refused to speak in front of Ava, and when she finally left the room, told Sonny she’s not bringing Donna (Scarlett Spears) to visit him anymore. “It’s not good for Donna to be here with you,” she told him.
Carly expressed her worry that Sonny may try and turn their daughter against her. “I barely recognize you anymore,” she said before telling him to take her to court if he has a problem with her decision. Carly noted Sonny’s level of hate and anger, noting he’s been acting like everyone is out to get him, and that was when she put it together.
No Judgement
Carly ran to the bathroom and rummaged through his drawers for his bipolar medication. When Sonny asked what she was doing, she told him she was making sure he’s taking his medication.
Carly brought his medication out into the living room, wanting to call his pharmacist. “I’m not judging you, I’m just trying to help you, Sonny,” Carly assured him. She reminded him of the last time he went off his meds and offered to help him, suggesting he gets his blood drawn to see if he needs his dosage adjusted.
Sonny turned her down and told her she needed to go, all while Ava stood watching in the background, not saying a word. When Carly left, Sonny told Ava there was nothing wrong with him, and Ava simply agreed. “Carly can go to Hell,” Sonny said on his way out of the room.
