General Hospital star Cameron Mathison lost his home to the wildfires in Los Angeles. He’s been very open about the devastating loss. Now, he’s shared some truly heartbreaking before and after videos of his home.
Mathison took to Instagram to give people a look at the devastation wrought by the raging inferno that claimed his home. He captioned the series of videos and photos with “Having trouble sleeping these days so scrolling through some of the photos of before and after💔
The first two videos are about a week apart. My heart goes out to the thousands of families whose home and lifetime of memories have also been destroyed 🙏🏼”
The first video shows a gorgeous walk up the home’s sidewalk and through the front door. The whole thing is beautifully decked out for Christmas. In stark contrast, the next video shows the same walk, and everything is entirely charred, with much of the scene unrecognizable from the holiday-bedecked house of mere weeks ago.
In some of the videos, somebody is crying while looking at the remains. The clips also show small fires still burning in the wreckage. Seeing such a juxtaposition gives insight into how profoundly these fires changed everything in the area. You can see the comparison in the post below.

There is so much uncertainty in the Los Angeles area right now as thousands of households deal with the reality of losing everything. Mathison has highlighted this tragedy’s very real human aspect in his openness about it. Soap Hub sends its condolences and thoughts to all those affected by these terrible fires.
