GH’s Cameron Mathison Gets Emotional Over This Major Milestone

General Hospital star Cameron Mathison not only plays Drew Cain on the sudser, but he’s also been in several Hallmark films and is currently working on TV Movies for Great American Family. As if that wasn’t enough, he’s also got a new gig hosting the game show Beat the Bridge. With all that going on, he still makes time for his ever-important family.

Congratulations, Leila!

Cameron Mathison penned a loving Instagram tribute to his daughter Leila on April 28 for her senior prom. “Leila, I want you to know that you are always on my mind and in my heart,” he wrote, adding, “I’m so grateful for every moment I get to spend with you, and remember no matter where life takes you always know that you are loved beyond measure. You are such an incredible daughter, and I’m so proud of the person you have become.”

He signed it with the touching, “Love, dad ❤️ (The last photo I may have a tear or two 😭)” The pics included Mathison hugging Leila who was dressed in an elegant black gown with a tasteful floral pattern. In the third photo, which he referenced, you can’t see his face, but you can feel his emotion coming from the snap.

Leila’s mom, Vanessa Mathison, responded lovingly, “We are lucky beyond belief ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.” Other soap stars also responded, including The Bold and the Beautiful’s Don Diamont (Bill Spencer), who simply shared a heart emoji with Mathison, responding in kind. GH newcomer Eva LaRue (Natalia Rogers-Ramirez) replied, “Sooo beautiful 💖,” with Mathison also posting a heart response. (Learn more about Mathison’s family here.)

The fans were extremely happy about Leila’s milestone; many felt the photos were beautiful. In December 2023, Mathison shared selfies of him and Leila at a meditation retreat, clearly illustrating that the two have a strong father/daughter bond!
