General Hospital's Cameron Mathison reflected on several quotes that get him motivated.
Despite losing his home in the LA Wildfires, General Hospital star Cameron Mathison continues to forge ahead with a positive attitude. Clearly, in a headspace to reflect on life, he’s been writing on social media about his and his family’s major loss. He recently posted some thoughtful quotes that are getting him through these tough times.
Mathison posted six photos on Instagram, five of which had him shirtless and showing off his muscular physique, with the overlaid text, “5 Quotes That Have Stuck With Me.” Each image had a quote from a famous person on it, and he captioned them, “Comment below which ones stuck with you 👇🏼. #quoteoftheday #goodquote #growth #flow #grow #strength #life.” The first quote was from Martin Luther King Jr. “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the staircase.” Next was, “You may encounter many defeats but you must not be defeated,” from Maya Angelou.
The third was a quote from French writer and philosopher Voltaire: “The most important decision you make is to be in a good mood.” Meditation speaker Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s quote was, “Happiness and suffering are states of mind, and so their main causes are not to be found outside the mind.” Mathison also added in two of his own quotes: “Everything I lose creates space for everything I need,” and “Praying for everyone who feels overwhelmed with life right now. Be kind to yourself and just take things one day at a time. You got this.”

GH co-star Finola Hughes (Anna) responded that the Voltaire quote was her favorite. One fan hilariously had trouble getting Mathison’s message because of the snaps, commenting, “Oh, I’m so sorry—could you remind me which quotes you’re referring to? 😉 I got a little distracted by that male model—such great pictures! The second quote and picture are definitely my favorites. Stunning work! 👏.”

In the wake of Mathison’s personal loss, one fan lovingly replied, “These truly resonate with me and so many others. The strength and mindset you have are incredible considering all that you’ve been through. Please be kind to yourself. ❤️.” Several fans found they liked all the quotes, and one added a different one: “The same boiling water that softens the potato, hardens the egg. It’s about what you’re made of, not the circumstances.”
