General Hospital Comings And Goings: Bryan Craig Is Officially Coming Back

General Hospital fans can rejoice! Bryan Craig is returning as Morgan Corinthos!

Long Wait for Craig’s Return

According to TVLine, Bryan Craig will be reprising his role as Morgan during the summer. No details about the circumstances of his return have been reported yet. Still, executive producer Frank Valentini recently teased that a major fan favorite would be coming back to the show. There have been many guesses as to who it could be, and now we have confirmation.

Craig took on the role of Morgan in 2013 and played the hot-headed son of our favorite racketeer, Sonny (Maurice Benard), until an explosion knocked him off a cliff to his seeming death in 2016. He did return once in 2018 to haunt Ava (Maura West), who had messed with his bipolar medication, which caused him to steal her brother Julian’s (ex-William deVry) car, not knowing there was a bomb planted in it. But, like most soaps, if there’s no body, chances are the character isn’t dead, and fans have been holding out hope since he left the show that he would someday return. (Check out Morgan’s storyline!)

Hints on Social Media

That time is upon us now, and fans of Morgan can breathe a sigh of relief. While many prior characters were suspected of being the one returning, speculation about Craig being the one began when he posted a photo of himself and on-screen dad Benard on X, formerly Twitter, on Father’s Day, writing simply, “Happy Father’s Day @MauriceBenard.”

In response to Soap Opera Digest’s June 11 post theorizing who the returning actor could be — and we knew it was a male because Valentini emphasized that fans would go lose their minds for him — Craig responded with, “Who could it be…” Fans had their virtual fingers crossed as one responded, “Well, I’m hoping it’s Morgan because we fans have only been screaming for years to bring Morgan back because he is the favorite character among fans so I’m hoping we finally get Morgan back after all these years.”

Be Short-Lived

Sadly, TVLine’s report stated that he would only return “for one episode in early August.” GH is usually cryptic about actors’ comings and goings, so that could very well be a red herring. Hopefully, he’ll be back for more!
