As the editor-in-chief of The Invader on General Hospital, Alexis Davis is all about stories with substance, ones that help shed light on meaningful causes. Or bring justice to those who can’t get it for themselves. As for Nancy Lee Grahn, who plays Alexis, it turns out she enjoys stories that are fresh and fun and keep her on her toes. The Daytime Emmy-winning actress can’t help but rave about a recent twist she didn’t see coming.

New Boss, Who Dis?

In the Monday, February 19 episode of GH, Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) made a big announcement. The Cassadine abruptly revealed he bought the paper from Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore). Now that he owned it, he made Nina (Cynthia Watros) its new publisher. Obviously, Alexis wasn’t happy, especially when the former head of Crimson suggested adding a gossip column to The Invader’s lineup.

Recently, Grahn told Soap Opera Digest she was surprised by the turn the story took. “That part was so fun,” Grahn said. “I didn’t see that coming!”

The actress also revealed she enjoyed sharing scenes with her co-stars. “I love Cynthia and working with Cynthia, and of course, I love working with James,” an amused Grahn said.

“Clearly, Nina and Alexis are polar opposites and have nothing in common, so [working together] is not gonna go well,” Grahn predicted. “There’s no commonality there, other than in real life, we adore each other.” In addition to the love fest, Grahn teased “fun stuff” ahead, especially with both women having such different beliefs.

Changes are coming fast and furious for those involved at GH. The show has two incoming co-headwriters in Elizabeth Korte and Patrick Mulcahey, a writer on one of Grahn’s previous gigs, Santa Barbara. New and returning actors are causing a splash, including All My Children alum Eva La Rue (Natalia), who aired for the first time on GH this week. Plus, Steve Burton’s stone-cold character, Jason Morgan, starts airing next week.

Did you enjoy the Nina/Alexis/Valentin scenes as much as Grahn did? Who else do you want to see Alexis interact with? Let us know in the comments.
