May Sweeps is just around the corner and with many plots about to come to satisfying climaxes on General Hospital, fans have plenty of theories on what’s about to go down in Port Charles.

It’s Gonna Be May Sweeps

May Sweeps is known as the time of year when stories are at their peak in Port Charles. Here are the most talked about theories swirling the internet that might just come to fruition by the month’s end.

Dex’s Daddy

Since Dex (Evan Hofer) came on the canvas, viewers have speculated about who his parents are. The new PCPD cop previously revealed to Josslyn (Eden McCoy, who is joining several soap stars for Daytime Stands Up) that he didn’t have the best upbringing, suffering abuse from his older brothers and having parents who didn’t care.

Odds are Dex was adopted, and rumors have been swirling about who his biological parents could be. With Jagger (Adam Harrington) back in Port Charles and constantly mentioning Karen (ex-Marie Wilson), it makes perfect sense Karen is Dex’s mother. His father, on the other hand, could either be Karen’s old flame Jagger, or Jason (Steve Burton), who dated Karen in high school and has an uncanny resemblance to Dex in both looks and personality.

Kristina Crisis

Between becoming Molly (Kristen Vaganos) and TJ’s (Tajh Bellow) surrogate and keeping an eye on her downward-spiraling dad, Kristina (Kate Mansi) has been a major topic of conversation around Port Charles. Specifically for TJ, who has had growing concerns over Kristina carrying his baby while also being so supportive of Sonny (Maurice Benard).

Could TJ’s constant concerns be foreshadowing a crisis in the Corinthos family? Sonny has been Pikeman’s target for months and has been shot at more than once. If Kristina is in the wrong place at the wrong time with her dad, things could turn dire fast for both her and the baby.

The New ‘Jarly’

While GH has made it clear that Jason and Carly (Laura Wright) – fondly known by fans as Jarly – are better off remaining best friends, there have been several hints at a new man in Carly’s life, and his name also starts with a J.

Since John (Adam Harrington) came back to town with ties to the PCPD and Jason’s return, he’s found himself in comfortable – even flirty – situations with Carly. Not only was Carly the first person he spoke to when he got back to town, she also saved him from his beating and later offered her his number. Nina (Cynthia Watros) already accused the two of spending the night together once, and it’s only a matter of time before the two hit the sheets for real. Until she finds out he’s holding her RICO violations over Jason, of course.

Spencer’s Back… Back Again?

Since Spencer’s (ex-Nicholas Alexander Chavez) presumed death last November, it’s been easy to assume in true soap fashion that Spencer is still alive. Trina (Tabyana Ali) has been going through the stages of grief for months after losing the love of her life, most recently sharing with Josslyn that she no longer cares about things that used to matter to her.

It’s been speculated for months that Spencer would make his big return to Port Charles during May Sweeps, but those rumors may have just been shut down by his portrayer. Nicholas Alexander Chavez took to Twitter to announce his departure from GH, but left a sliver of hope for Sprina fans when he added, “While there are no current plans for me to return, we are still talking very openly about future possibilities for Spencer in Port Charles.” Although Spencer may not be returning any time soon, it appears all hope isn’t lost that he will someday.
