Over the weekend, news that All My Children alum and I Wanna Be A Soap Star Season 2 winner, Alec Musser, died at the age of 50 shocked daytime. Now, the actor’s cause of death has been revealed.
Alec Musser Cause Of Death
TMZ reported that Musser died of suicide. His fiancée, Paige Press, discovered his body at their home in Del Mar, California last Saturday. She’d gone to bed on Friday night, and when she woke up on Saturday morning, she discovered his body and called 911.
According to Page Six, Press revealed Musser’s death on social media, writing on an Instagram story, “RIP to the love of my life. I will never stop loving you. My heart is broken,” she wrote. “Today is the worst day of my life. We were so happy … You were the best fiancé I could of ever asked for.”
In 2005, Musser won the second season of SOAPnet’s reality TV show, I Wanna Be A Soap Star. As the winner, he joined AMC as Del Henry, taking over from Winsor Harmon (Thorne, Bold and the Beautiful). Musser was on the ABC soap from 2005 to 2007.
His other acting credits include Desperate Housewives, The Phantom Executioner, Grown Ups, Rita Rocks, and Road to the Alter. In addition to acting, Musser was a fitness model. He appeared in magazines like Men’s Health, Men’s Workout, and Exercise Health.
Adam Sandler, who starred in Grownups, took to social media to pay tribute to Musser, who played the role of Water Park Stud in the 2010 film. “I loved this guy. Cannot believe he is gone,” Sandler wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Such a wonderful, funny good man. Thinking of Alec Musser and his family and sending all my love. A true great sweetheart of a person.
