Robert Palmer Watkins, who starred on General Hospital as Dillon Quartermaine from 2015-17, has landed a new film role. Deadline.com first reported the news of the project.
Lights, Camera, Action!
The actor will star with fellow soap alum Lea Salonga (Lien, As The World Turns) in The Vale – Origins, a hybrid live-action and animated short film serving as a prelude to the upcoming novel of the same name by Abigail Hing Wen, which will be released on September 16, 2025.
The film is in the post-production phase and is slated to be completed in May. The short film follows the Lees, a grieving inventor family in Silicon Valley who discover healing and connection through their young son’s creativity within The Vale, a virtual reality fantasy world they created. This family-friendly film seamlessly transitions between the real, live-action world and the animated realm, blending reality and imagination in a visually stunning exploration of love, family, and resilience.
Watkins most recent film, Trapped Inn, was released in November, and is now available to rent/buy on Amazon, Fandango at Home, Apple TV, and Google Play. You can view the trailer below.
