Assistant district attorney Molly Lansing-Davis, when played by Haley Pullos, has negotiated some plea deals on General Hospital. Now, Pullos is trying to get a real-life negotiation going on with the courts so she can stay out of jail.
The Daily Mail reports that Pullos is attempting to strike a deal with authorities related to her DUI crash from last year. She’s hoping to get a reduced sentence. In June 2023, the actress was charged with DUI after a crash she allegedly caused by driving the wrong way on a Pasadena, Calif. freeway.
Pullos, 25, is facing up to a three-year prison sentence if found guilty. And, unlike GH’s Pentonville prison, folks aren’t always released quite as quickly from incarceration in real-life. The actress has pleaded not guilty to the charges of hit-and-run and driving under the influence. However, if she switches to a guilty plea, it’s possible that prosecutors will agree to a lighter sentence, which could mean less or no jail time at all. Pullos might even get house arrest or a suspended sentence.
A judge has scheduled another hearing for April 8, 2024. Deputy District Attorney Melany Avanessians told the judge that if a plea deal isn’t in place by that time then Pullos will be headed to a full trial.
Courtney Wilder, 23, whose car Pullos collided with almost a year ago, is suing the actress in civil court, seeking damages for negligence. “Haley Pullos acted maliciously and without any regard for the safety of others, as evidenced by her rage when she was pulled from her vehicle by first responders,” Wilder stated in a court declaration. “She acted maliciously by attacking the officers and yelling profanities in front of witnesses and directed toward those who were trying to help her. In her fit of rage, Haley Pullos battered a firefighter and yelled at him to take his hands off her ‘$400 [expletive] shirt.’
‘Despite having just caused two accidents, one of which resulted in serious, life-threatening injuries, she cared more about her overpriced clothing than she did the safety and all-being of the victim of her reckless, intentional, and despicable conduct,” the statement continued. “As more evidence of her abhorrent behavior, Haley Pullos continued to fight medical staff and was forced to be sedated.”
Wilder is also suing the No Comment Lounge Restaurant and Lounge, the establishment where Pullos worked as a hostess, pointing out that the place allowed her to consume alcohol and then let her drive. Additionally, Wilder is suing the State of California Transportation Department, claiming the location where the crash occurred is in “dangerous condition.”
Pullos exited her role as Molly following this incident. The show recast the role twice before hiring the character’s current portrayer, Kristen Vaganos.
