The former General Hospital villain appeared on the 500th episode of Law & Order. The fans overwhelmingly love her work while still harboring a hope that she’ll one day return to the soap.
After terrorizing Carly (Laura Wright) and her family on GH from 2016 to 2020 (with a ghostly appearance in 2022), Chloe Lanier’s Nelle was one of the most dangerous villains in Port Charles. This role garnered her the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series in 2018. She’s appeared in a few other shows, including NCIS: Hawaii and Station 19, and has been extremely busy. Between making “her writing and co-directorial debut” on a film called The Reveal, per FilmFreeway, and co-writing a spec script called Book of Brie with fellow soap alum Hayley Erin (ex-Kiki, GH, Claire, The Young and the Restless), she’s got an amazing future ahead of her.
Not content with sitting on her laurels, Lanier is also appearing in a May episode of Law & Order as a character named Chelsea Shell in the episode No Good Deed. The episode is a landmark one for the crime drama, and the actress took to Instagram recently to share behind-the-scenes pics and a video. She captioned it, “I had the honor (no pun intended) of being a part of the 500th episode of @nbclawandorder — working alongside legends like @tonygoldwyn and Hugh Dancy was a dream and definitely made me a better actor.”
Praising the cast and crew as being among the best she’s ever worked with, she continued by explaining the first photo: “As you can see here, I was regaling [creator and writer] Dick Wolf with my deep knowledge of quantum physics (I kid, I kid.) In all seriousness, this show deals with some really dark stuff that hits close to home for a lot of people. And I don’t take that lightly. Tune in tonight. DUN DUN. #lawandorder500.”
Former GH co-star Willian deVry (ex-Julian) showered her with applause emojis, and many of her followers praised her acting and congratulated her for being on the milestone 500th episode. Several fans wished for her return to GH, as one wrote, “Just watched your L&O ep. You were wonderful. I enjoy your acting…ever since your great work on GH. Wish they’d bring you back!”
Whether or not Lanier reprises the role that made her a soap star remains to be seen, but we’re glad she’s still working hard and look forward to her next project.
