The objections to the end of Walt Willey’s guest stint on General Hospital have been sustained. This report just in: the fan-favorite All My Children alum is heading back to Port Charles in the not-too-distant future.

Walt Willey Brings Crime Buster Jack Back

Per TVLine, who was the first to report on the story, a rep for the lone ABC soap has revealed that Willey will reprise his Jackson Montgomery character for several episodes “in late August.” This was something the actor hinted about in an interview with Soap Hub during his brief return last month.

AMC devotees were a flutter when it was announced earlier this year that that actor would be reporting for duty at General Hospital and slipping back into Jackson’s tailored suits. There was much speculation as to how the legal eagle would be peppered into the Port Charles fray (and a whole heap of fans swooned at the thought of seeing Willey reunited with divalicious Susan Lucci’s Erica Kane), but as it turns out, it was several GH mainstays who were slotted into Jackson’s world.

Sleuthsome twosome Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) and Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) endeavored to get some dirt on the former’s main man (played by Willey’s former AMC cohort Michael E. Knight) and targeted Jackson as part of their con. Unfortunately for the two, James Bond they are not. In no time flat, Jackson rumbled that something was amiss, and both ladies ended up cuffed. Were it not for the intervention of one Ms. Anna Devane (Finola Hughes, another former AMC star), they’d very likely have seen the inside of a jail cell.

Walt Willey’s encore performance comes at a most inauspicious time for GH as the drama behind the scenes threatens to eclipse what’s unfolding on the TV screen. Since last week, all material seen has reportedly been penned by financial-core or “fi-core” writers (that is, writers who have reduced their membership in the Writer’s Guild). What fates await the GH mainstays, and special visitors, remains to be seen.
