Portia tampering with Heather’s test results will turn out to be a bloody mess. And maybe not just for her.

Oh, Portia. On General Hospital, Dr. Portia Robinson is a “whatever it takes” kind of person and doctor. So, was it surprising to see her change Heather’s lab results? Nope. But it is a bit disappointing. There are a number of ways this story can go from here on out., in no particular order.

7 Ways Portia’s Actions Can Go Terribly (Terribly) Wrong

#1 Brad Attempts Redemption By Outing Portia’s Illegal Actions

There are reasons why Portia (Brook Kerr) didn’t appreciate Terry (Cassandra James) clearing the way for Brad’s (Perry Shen) rehiring at GH. First, he has something to prove. He did his time, and he’s been lying low (too low) lately. Now that he’s back in the lab at GH if he sees something sus, he might report it. And that won’t be good for Portia.

#2 Brad Gets Blamed For What Portia Did

One way a rehired Brad could work out for Portia is because of Brad’s sordid past. With Brad back in the lab, he could be the scapegoat. The administration or the cops will, naturally, suspect him first. Who better to blame than the ex-con whose crimes are well-known in the GH circles?

#3 Heather Might Go Free, Portia Might End Up Un-Free

Ric (Rick Hearst) and Liz (Rebecca Herbst) are already on the case. They know something doesn’t look right, and they are following up. There’s a good chance their concerns will be validated. After all, the results are beyond wrong! Since Ric’s an ace lawyer, he’s capable of getting Heather out of prison and with a boatload of money to boot. And if Portia’s underhandedness is found out, she could be the one behind bars or…

#4 Portia Will Lose Her Job

Portia is the co-chief of Staff at GH. However, she understandably has made no bones about wanting Heather (Alley Mills) to remain locked up at Pentonville for life. So, if she gets nailed for the results tampering, she won’t be the trusted doctor she’s always been. As a result, she could lose her job, get suspended, or be demoted. Then, Terry will be the sole voice at the top of the doctors’ list.

#5 The Damage To Portia’s Marriage To Curtis

Curtis already forgave Portia for keeping a lid on Trina’s paternity. But history proves that he will leave a woman if she keeps secrets he feels he should be privy to. In this Heather Cobalt poisoning business, they have discussed their opinions, concerns, and feelings. Yet, she still messed with the results. Curtis (Donnell Turner) won’t be happy, which could cause trouble for the husband and wife.

#6: The Damage To Portia’s Relationship with Trina

Much like Curtis and Portia, Trina (Tabyana Ali — find out about her movie here) and her mom have discussed this particular matter. Yes, Heather targeted her daughter. And yes, she should worry about the chances Heather could go free. While Portia’s feelings are valid (and everybody in Port Charles should recognize this), tampering with the lab results was a step too far. How do you think Trina will react to discovering what her mom did? She was more than willing to let the chips fall where they may and even confronted Heather herself. No, she won’t be happy with her mom.

#7: Heather Gets Out And Travels A Path Of Revenge Anyway

The whole point of this cobalt poisoning is that Heather could face the same situations and react differently. This is because the cobalt poison is no longer present. But what if Heather is free? And she knows what Portia did to try and keep her behind bars. What if she attempts revenge anyway? We’re not talking about the dark, serial killing path of revenge she was on before. Maybe it’s just your classic garden-variety revenge that doesn’t involve murder. That would still mean terrible things for Portia and maybe her family, too.

What are some other ways this whole situation could go wrong? Let us know in the comments.
