Here’s What You Need To Know About General Hospital’s Giovanni Mazza

The Cerullo family continues to multiply. Giovanni Mazza has been cast as Giovanni, the newest member of the Bensonhurst clan. The handsome actor makes his General Hospital debut the week of May 13, 2024, just in time for his cousin Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) wedding where he’ll perform a violin solo.

Mazza got his star in the business when he began acting in school plays and summer camps as a child in the  Chicago metropolitan area. Things took a professional turn, when he was eight and landed a two-year Walmart commercial campaign. Local independent short film work and some prime time guest spots eventually followed.

1. Mazza was discovered at the age of nine when he performed a solo violin medley at the Chicago Bulls Kids Talent Search in 2015. The event features local children, ages 5-14, displaying their musical abilities on the center court during a special halftime performance.

2. His love for the violin started at age 3. He began his studies via the Suzuki teaching. “It started at the local library,” Mazza told the Chicago Sun Times. “They had an instrument trial they called an ‘instrument petting zoo.’ I remember taking the violin out and really liked it, so I stuck with it.”

3. Mazza made his television debut as young Charlie Huggins on Nickelodeon’s Bella and the Bulldogs in 2015. He was 10 at the time, and it was a small speaking role.

5.Mazza is also an athlete. He loved participating in sports during his school years. He played baseball, basketball and year-round travel soccer.
