The 49th Annual Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Performer in a Drama Series goes to Nicholas Alexander Chavez, who plays Spencer Cassadine on General Hospital. Other Younger Performers nominated in the same category include Lindsay Arnold (Allie Horton, DAYS), Alyvia Alyn Lind (Faith Newman, Y&R), William Lipton (Cameron Webber, GH), and Sydney Mikayla (Trina Robinson, GH).
Newcomer Nicholas Alexander Chavez took over the pivotal role of Spencer Cassadine, stepping into the role previously held by fan-favorite Nicolas Bechtel. Chavez quickly won fans and critics over with his multi-layered performance as a troubled rich kid.
2021 found young Cassadine stalking his stepmother along with his partner in crime, Esme Prince, still reeling from his father’s faked demise, and serving jail time. With key scenes opposite veterans like Genie Francis, Maura West, Maurice Benard, and Charles Shaughnessy, Chavez proved he can handle himself.
Soap Hub congratulates Nicholas Alexander Chavez on taking home Daytime Emmy gold and the Soap Hub Award in his rookie year.
